Story

Some evenings don't ask for attention-they simply invite you to be still.

Evening Glory was inspired by a sunset directly in front of our lake home.  As the sun settled toward the horizon, the sky became a tapestry of warm golds, soft oranges, and deepening blues, all mirrored perfectly across the calm water.  It wasn't just the colors that captured my attention-it was the reflection, reminding me that beauty often doubles itself when we slow down long enough to notice.

This is one of my earlier oil paintings, yet it still represents what first inspired me to pick up a brush: preserving the quiet moments that are so easily forgotten, but never truly leave our hearts.

Reflection

Life often moves at a hurried pace, yet creation continually reminds us to pause.  A sunset reflected across still water has a way of quieting our thoughts and drawing us into gratitude.

Sometimes the most beautiful moments aren't the loud celebrations, but the peaceful evenings that gently whisper, "Stay a little longer." Those moments become the memories that anchor us long after the sun has disappeared below the horizon.

Scripture

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him."
