Story
Every journey has a beginning.
This was the very first oil painting I ever created.
Inspired by a photographer's image, Aire Terra Photography-shared with permission-I was captivated by the snow covered peaks rising above a soft layer of morning fog. The mountains felt crisp, majestic, and timeless, their beauty quietly emerging above the clouds.
Living part of the year in Arizona, I'm surrounded by a very different kind of landscape. The rugged desert mountains have their own beauty, but the Grand Tetons offered something entirely different - cool air, towering peaks, and a peaceful stillness that stopped me in my tracks.
When I picked up my brushes to paint this scene, I had no idea it would become the beginning of a journey in oil painting. Looking back now, this painting represents more than a beautiful landscape. It marks the first step of an adventure that continues with every canvas I create.
Reflection
We rarely recognize the significance of a first step while we're taking it.
A single decision, a quiet "yes", or the courage to try something new can become the beginning of a journey we never imagined.
God often unfolds our calling one faithful step at a time. We don't need to see the entire path-we simply need the courage to begin.
Scripture
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
-Proverbs 3:5-6
