Story

There are some places that call you back again and again.

For us, the Black Hills of South Dakota have become one of those places.  Over the years we've returned nine different times, and somehow every visit offers something new to discover.

This particular spring, the winter snowmelt had transformed the landscape. Creeks rushed alongside the winding roads, spilling over rocks with incredible energy, while the hillsides glowed with the brilliant greens that only spring can bring.

As an artist, I never worry about running out of inspiration in the Black Hills.  Around every bend is another view waiting to be painted.

Running Waters captures one of those unforgettable moments-a reminder that nature is constantly changing, yet always inviting us to come back and experience it again.

Reflection

Some places refresh more than our eyes.

They refresh our souls.

Just as these waters continue to flow, God's faithfulness is never stagnant.  He is always moving, always renewing, always bringing fresh life to places that seemed dormant only a season before.

Sometimes we need to return to the places that remind us of that truth.

Scripture

"For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground."

-Isaiah 44:3
