Student Motivation

Creating custom artwork is always exciting, but when I was given the opportunity to have full creative expression for my most recent commission, I couldn't wait to get started. The client, a high school math teacher, wanted a sign for her classroom that would inspire and encourage her students. She specifically requested a graffiti-style design with the words "One More Round" incorporated.

To bring this vision to life, I decided to focus on a hand as the main element of the painting. I wanted to convey the message of unity and togetherness, so I chose to depict a hand with the first finger extended. This subtle symbol represents the idea that we are all connected, emphasizing the importance of supporting and uplifting one another. In addition to the hand, I carefully selected phrases of encouragement to include in the design. These phrases were meant to motivate and empower the students, reminding them of their capabilities and the importance of perseverance. Each phrase was strategically placed around the hand, creating a visually dynamic composition that would catch the students' attention. To further enhance the message of strength and resilience, I incorporated a symbol that represents these qualities. This symbol, proudly displayed in the middle of the artwork, serves as a constant reminder to the students that they possess the inner strength to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
