Story

One of the greatest gifts of traveling is discovering places you never expected to find.

While staying at an RV park, I wandered down to a quiet creek tucked beneath a canopy of trees.  Framed between the branches of an old tree, a graceful white egret stood motionless in the shallow water, completely undisturbed by the world around it.

I set up my easel right there along the creek and painted the scene outdoors, letting the changing light, gentle breeze, and sounds of the water become part of the painting itself.

Some places don't need grand mountain vistas or dramatic sunsets to leave a lasting impression.  Sometimes all it takes is a quiet bend in the river and the unexpected gift of being fully present.

Reflection

Travel isn't only about seeing new places.

Sometimes it's about slowing down enough to notice what has been quietly waiting for us all along.

Grace often appears that way-not with fanfare, but in peaceful moments that invite us to pause, breathe deeply, and simply receive the beauty before us.

Scripture

"He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul."
