In my painting, I pay tribute to my beloved mother, who left us in November. Inspired by a moving story shared by the priest, derived from Henry Van Dyke's poem, I depict a ship sailing off into the horizon. The figures on the shoreline watch with heavy hearts as the vessel disappears from view, embodying the profound sense of loss that accompanies her departure. Yet, beyond the distant waves, on the other shore, there are those eagerly awaiting her arrival, joyfully shouting, "Here she comes!" This duality of sorrow and hope captures the essence of my memory of her, a reminder that while she may be gone from our sight, she is forever embraced and celebrated in spirit by those who love her. Through this artwork, I aim to convey the beauty of remembrance and the connection that transcends the physical world.
